Fourteen students from Delhi government schools are preparing to travel to Germany under the APAL Project 2025, a vocational education initiative facilitated by Germany’s Federal Employment Agency (BA). The students will participate in a dual vocational training programme that integrates classroom learning with on-the-job industrial experience over a span of three to three-and-a-half years.

Hands-On Training Meets Global Exposure

The initiative—officially known as the Ausbildung Programme for Auszubildende in Deutschland (APAL)—offers selected candidates rigorous technical training alongside practical work placements. Upon completion, participants will receive globally recognised certifications, significantly enhancing their employability in skilled trades.

Delhi Government Hosts Felicitation Ceremony

In a ceremony held at the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Education Minister Ashish Sood congratulated the students on their achievement. CM Gupta commended the group for their determination, calling their selection “an inspiring example of resilience and hard work in the face of economic adversity.”

“These young individuals are proof that quality education and international opportunities can empower students from all backgrounds,” said Gupta, reaffirming the government’s commitment to educational upliftment.

Strengthening Vocational Pathways

The APAL Project is designed to strengthen international collaboration in vocational education. It not only bridges academic and industrial training but also fosters cultural exchange and long-term career development.

Education Minister Ashish Sood emphasised the broader goals of the initiative. “This partnership between the Delhi and German governments is aimed at enhancing skill development and job readiness. We expect that once their training concludes, these students will transition directly into employment in their respective fields,” he stated.

Sood also noted that the APAL programme complements the central government’s Skill India Mission, aligning with national priorities to build a globally competent workforce.

Expanding Indo-German Educational Ties

This initiative marks yet another step forward in deepening Indo-German cooperation in the education sector. With a strong foundation in science, technology, and vocational learning, the academic ties between India and Germany continue to offer meaningful pathways for youth development, innovation, and future-ready skill building.
