German consumer electronics company Blaupunkt has partnered with Reliance Jio to launch a new series of smart televisions powered by Jio’s home-grown operating system, JioTele OS.

Launch of JioTele OS-Powered TVs

The new Blaupunkt QLED 4K televisions come integrated with JioTele OS, offering features such as AI-driven content recommendations, a sports viewing mode, and access to over 300 live TV channels. The rollout is part of Jio’s broader strategy to embed its digital ecosystem across consumer devices.

Expansion of Product Portfolio

Alongside the JioTele OS models, Blaupunkt also announced additions to its Sigma Q Series, which now includes upgraded displays, improved sound, and a refreshed Linux-based operating system.

Policy Support for TV Market

The launches come in the backdrop of the government’s GST reduction on televisions above 32 inches—cut from 28% to 18% earlier this year—a move aimed at making larger screens more affordable and boosting demand in the consumer electronics sector.

Broader Indo-German Technology Collaboration

The partnership underscores how German consumer brands are increasingly aligning with Indian technology platforms to tap into the country’s expanding digital economy. Blaupunkt’s collaboration with Reliance Jio reflects a growing trend of Indo-German cooperation in consumer electronics, innovation, and digital services, adding a new dimension to bilateral ties that already span sectors such as automotive, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing.
