Germany’s LAUDA Dr. R. Wobser GmbH & Co. KG, a world leader in precision temperature control systems, has strengthened its presence in South Asia with the launch of its 10th global sales subsidiary in Pune, India. The new entity, Degree LAUDA Precision Pvt. Ltd., marks a strategic joint venture with Sawant Process Solutions and reflects the company’s long-term commitment to India’s expanding technology and manufacturing ecosystem.

LAUDA Sets Up Joint Venture in Pune

The newly launched company, Degree LAUDA Precision, has been registered as a 75:25 joint venture between LAUDA and the Sawant family. As part of the leadership structure, Devaki Sawant has joined the Board of Directors alongside LAUDA executives Marco Hauser and Dr. Gunther Wobser.

Marco Hauser has been appointed Managing Director and will be based in Pune to oversee operations and market expansion.

The official inauguration ceremony in Pune was attended by LAUDA President & CEO Dr. Gunther Wobser and Director Global Sales Felix Heinrich-Bignasse, marking a significant milestone in the company’s India strategy.

Bringing High-Precision German Technology to India

With the new subsidiary, LAUDA aims to boost accessibility of its advanced temperature-control portfolio in India. The product range includes thermostats, chillers, circulators, heaters, and viscometers — capable of controlling extreme temperatures from –150°C to 550°C.

Highlighting India’s potential as a technology and scientific hub, Dr. Wobser said: “India is not only the world’s most populous country, but also impresses as a nation full of culture, innovative power, and scientific excellence. With the opening of our tenth sales subsidiary, we are sending a clear message: We are investing for the long term, we want to grow, and we want to be successful together with our partners and customers.”

Expanding Distribution Network Across South Asia

Alongside the joint venture, LAUDA has strengthened its regional sales ecosystem by appointing three new distributors.

  • S. V. Scientific and App Systems (India) will represent the brand across India.
  • Nuventa will serve as LAUDA’s official partner in Bangladesh.

These additions are expected to accelerate the company’s penetration across India’s industrial, scientific, pharmaceutical, and research segments — sectors that depend heavily on precise temperature control.

India’s Growing Manufacturing Base Offers Strategic Advantage

The Pune-headquartered entity positions LAUDA close to India’s fast-growing manufacturing clusters and export-oriented industrial units. With rising demand for advanced quality-controlled processes and laboratory-grade temperature management systems, the company expects the Indian market to play a pivotal role in its global growth plans.

The move also allows LAUDA to reduce lead times, offer localized service, and tailor products more effectively to Indian customers’ needs.
