Germany’s DEPRAG SCHULZ and India’s Leaptech Corporation have launched DEPRAG India Pvt. Ltd. as a joint venture. Leaptech announced the launch on September 24, describing it as a new stage in the companies’ existing relationship.
The venture will focus on screwdriving, component-feeding, assembly and automation solutions for Indian manufacturers. Leaptech said the new company aims to bring those technologies closer to customers in India and provide stronger local engagement and support.
An established partnership takes a new form
DEPRAG is headquartered in Amberg, Bavaria, and develops technology used in industrial assembly processes. Its website lists Leaptech as its representative in India. Leaptech, established in 2003, supplies equipment and process solutions to manufacturers in sectors including electronics, semiconductors and automotive.
The joint venture brings together DEPRAG’s engineering and process technology with Leaptech’s experience in the Indian market, according to Leaptech’s announcement. For manufacturers, the proposed benefit is closer access to assembly and automation solutions, backed by local support.
DEPRAG’s systems address specific steps on a production line, including feeding components and controlling how screws are fastened. Leaptech already offers DEPRAG screwdriving technology in India as part of its wider range of manufacturing equipment. The new company gives that existing work a joint corporate structure.
The launch adds to India–Germany cooperation in manufacturing technology through a partnership between a German engineering company and an Indian supplier already active across several industrial sectors. How the venture develops its services in India will be the next measure of its impact.
