Messe Muenchen India, a subsidiary of German trade fair organiser Messe München, has acquired PharmaTech Expo from Ahmedabad-based PharmaTechnologyindex.com, a division of KNS Group.

The acquisition adds an exhibition focused on pharmaceutical machinery, manufacturing equipment and laboratory technology to the company’s portfolio in India. Both PharmaTech Expo and Messe München have confirmed the development through their official LinkedIn accounts.

The exhibition connects pharmaceutical manufacturers, technology providers and other industry participants, with a presence in northern and western India.

A wider pharmaceutical exhibition portfolio

PharmaTech Expo covers pharmaceutical machinery, processing and production equipment, cleanroom technology, packaging systems and laboratory solutions.

It will join Messe Muenchen India’s pharmaceutical and laboratory exhibition portfolio, which also includes analytica Lab India and PharmaCore India. These platforms cover different parts of the industry, from laboratory research and testing to pharmaceutical production and packaging.

In a joint statement published by media channels on 21 October 2026, Messe München Group CEOs Dr Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel said the acquisition “further underlines our long-term commitment to the Indian market”. They said PharmaTech Expo’s regional experience would be combined with the group’s international network and exhibition expertise.

Messe München separately said on its official LinkedIn account that its Indian subsidiary was expanding its presence in sectors including pharmaceuticals and logistics.

2027 editions to continue as planned

PharmaTech Expo has confirmed that its Chandigarh edition will take place from 8–10 April 2027, followed by the Gandhinagar edition from 5–7 August 2027.

The exhibition said the acquisition strengthens its engagement with pharmaceutical manufacturing and industry networks across western and northern India. It described PharmaTech Expo as a 30,000-square-metre trade fair.

Expanding presence in India

Messe München also recently added the India International Cargo Show to its Indian portfolio. The group said both acquisitions formed part of its international growth plans.

The addition of PharmaTech Expo gives Messe Muenchen India another platform connecting pharmaceutical manufacturers with suppliers of production, packaging and laboratory technologies.
