The 17th edition of the India-Germany Military Cooperation Sub Group (MCSG) meeting took place from October 1-2, 2024, in Berlin, Germany.

MCSG: A Platform for Strategic Dialogue
The Military Cooperation Sub Group (MCSG) serves as a vital platform for fostering defense relations between India and Germany. Established to facilitate regular talks at both strategic and operational levels, the forum encourages collaboration between India’s Integrated Defence Staff and Germany’s Armed Forces International Cooperation Department.
Co-chaired by the Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff for International Defence Cooperation from India and the Deputy Director of Germany’s Armed Forces Office, the meeting brought together high-ranking officials committed to reinforcing defense cooperation.
Strengthening Defense Ties
Both sides agreed to further strengthen their ongoing military engagements and explore innovative defense initiatives. “We are committed to enhancing our defense cooperation in various areas, including joint exercises, technology sharing, and strategic partnerships,” said a spokesperson from the German delegation.
The two-day meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to deepen defense ties and broaden the scope of military collaboration between the two nations.
