The Adani Group has unveiled a nationwide initiative to enhance India’s workforce by introducing the country’s largest ‘Skill and Employ’ program. Launched in alignment with the ‘Make in India’ campaign, this initiative aims to bridge the skills gap across key industries, ensuring a highly trained workforce for the nation’s expanding economic sectors.

Strategic Partnership with Indo-German Chamber of Commerce

In a significant move, Adani Group has partnered with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) to develop a skilled talent pool for industries such as green energy, high-tech manufacturing, industrial design, and project management. IGCC, a leading non-profit entity established in 1956, is the largest German bi-national chamber globally and the most extensive chamber of commerce in India, representing nearly 4,000 companies from diverse sectors.

Rs 2,000 Crore Investment in World-Class Training Institute

To bring this vision to fruition, the Adani family has pledged an investment exceeding Rs 2,000 crore to establish an internationally benchmarked training institute and finishing school in Mundra. This facility will focus on enrolling students from technical and vocational education backgrounds, equipping them with specialized skills tailored to industry demands. Upon certification, candidates will have the opportunity to secure employment within the Adani Group or other relevant industries, ensuring immediate industry integration.

Focus on Industry-Ready Training and Employment

Robin Bhowmik, CEO of Adani Skills and Education, highlighted the importance of the collaboration, emphasizing that it aligns with the group’s commitment to fostering technical expertise in India. He noted that the initiative would focus on academic quality assurance, certification-driven learning, and faculty and student exchange programs. The goal, he said, is to create a workforce that is ready to contribute to industry needs from day one.

Long-Term Commitment to Skill Development

IGCC Deputy Director General Ute Brockmann described the partnership as a major step in nurturing future talent for India’s industrial growth and innovation. She pointed out IGCC’s extensive experience in delivering German-standard dual vocational education programs in India and expressed confidence that this collaboration with Adani Group would be a long-term strategic alliance aimed at strengthening workforce capabilities.

This large-scale skill development initiative marks a critical step in India’s journey toward industrial self-reliance, positioning the country as a global hub for skilled talent.
