German two-wheeler major BMW Motorrad has confirmed the India launch of its upcoming mid-capacity adventure motorcycle, the F 450 GS, scheduled for April 23, 2026.

The model marks a key addition to BMW’s GS portfolio and reflects the company’s growing focus on India as both a manufacturing hub and a key market for premium motorcycles.

Designed in Germany, Manufactured in India

The F 450 GS has been developed in Germany but will be manufactured locally in partnership with TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu.

The collaboration between BMW Motorrad and TVS has previously delivered models such as the G 310 series. The new motorcycle signals a move into a higher engine category under the same partnership, while also reinforcing India’s role in BMW’s global production strategy.

New Platform to Anchor Entry-Level GS Lineup

The upcoming motorcycle is set to succeed the existing BMW G 310 GS as the brand’s most accessible adventure offering in India.

Unlike the outgoing model’s single-cylinder setup, the F 450 GS introduces a 420cc parallel-twin engine, expected to produce around 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. It is also likely to incorporate features such as a slipper clutch and quickshifter.

Key Features and Segment Positioning

While full specifications are yet to be officially detailed, the motorcycle is expected to include core rider aids and digital instrumentation in line with segment standards, alongside multiple riding modes and safety systems.

Strategic Push in India’s Premium Motorcycle Segment

The launch underscores BMW Motorrad’s continued push to expand its presence in India’s mid-capacity motorcycle segment, supported by local manufacturing and platform upgrades.

Launch Builds Momentum in Growing Segment

The F 450 GS has drawn attention following its earlier concept showcases and testing sightings. With the launch date now confirmed, focus is expected to shift to pricing and variant details, which will be announced at the official unveiling later this month.

The development comes amid sustained activity in India’s premium motorcycle space, where manufacturers are increasingly aligning global products with local production and demand.
