Germany Congratulates India on Successful Democratic Elections, Looks Forward to Strengthened Ties

The German Foreign Office has extended its congratulations to the people of India for successfully conducting the world’s largest democratic elections. Emphasizing the importance of the event, Germany expressed its eagerness to collaborate with India’s newly elected government and enhance bilateral cooperation.

In a statement on X, the German Foreign Office remarked, “Congratulations to the Indian people for successfully concluding the world’s largest democratic #elections – we are looking forward to working with India’s new government and to taking our cooperation with #India to the next level.”

 

India’s Lok Sabha elections were held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1. The polling dates for the earlier six phases were April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and May 25. The vote count is scheduled for June 4.

The final phase of polling on June 1, which spanned seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, recorded an approximate voter turnout of 62.36 percent, according to the Election Commission (ECI).
