Asia’s largest exhibition on education, skills, and vocational training — Didac India & Didac Skills 2025 — has opened in New Delhi with its biggest-ever global participation, signalling a decisive shift in India’s role as a major supplier of skilled professionals to global markets.

The three-day event (18–20 November), jointly organised by Messe Stuttgart India and the India Didactics Association (IDA), marks its 15th edition this year, drawing 500+ exhibitors and over 40,000 visitors from more than 40 countries.

‘A Win-Win Partnership’: Germany Looks to India for Future Talent

In a significant endorsement of India’s emerging importance in global workforce pipelines, Roland Bleinroth, President & CEO, Messe Stuttgart Global, said the convergence of India’s young workforce and Germany’s acute talent shortage is unlocking unprecedented opportunities for collaboration.

Speaking to ANI on the sidelines of the event, Bleinroth noted: “We have a scenario where India has a well-trained, young and eager population, and Germany has a need for exactly that profile. We have a lot of open positions in Germany, ranging from skills to high-tech startups, quantum physics, and anything.”

He emphasised that German companies across sectors are unable to fill critical positions — making India’s talent pool strategically vital. “There are opportunities in Germany where companies are not able to fill these positions, and that makes this collaboration so promising, and makes it a win-win situation for both sides.”

Skills and Higher Education ‘Equally Crucial,’ Says Bleinroth

Bleinroth stressed that strengthening the skills ecosystem is as essential as developing higher education pathways. “It is crucial to highlight the skills sector alongside higher education, as both are essential for economic growth.”

He pointed to the German dual education model as an example of why Germany’s technical workforce remains globally competitive: “The German dual education system is renowned because it provides skilled workers who sustain a high-tech economy.”

On the future of learning, he noted that Artificial Intelligence is fundamentally reshaping global education systems: “AI is transforming education — it is a whole new ballgame that brings a lot of new opportunities.”

Bleinroth added that India is “at the very forefront” of AI expertise, creating even stronger prospects for Indo-German collaboration.

Biggest-Ever Edition: DIDAC Grows 35% Over Last Year

Announcing the scale of the 2025 edition, Bleinroth confirmed: “This year’s edition is the biggest ever — it has expanded by 35 per cent from last year.” The addition of Didac Skills marks an expanded focus on vocational training, apprenticeship pathways, and employability programmes.

India’s Skills Focus Driving Sector Momentum

According to Gaurav Sood, CEO, Messe Stuttgart India, the continuous growth of the exhibition reflects the region’s sharp pivot toward strengthening school education and skilling systems.

Sood said the momentum is driven by rising policy attention: School education and vocational training remain central priorities for India and its neighbouring countries. He added that the scale of the fair highlights the urgency with which nations are building their future workforce.

Germany Marks Strongest Presence Yet

This year, Germany has mounted its most comprehensive participation under the banner “Germany meets Didac India & Didac Skills.” The German Pavilion features:

  • A joint exhibition zone
  • Dedicated information & advisory desks
  • Expert forums with panels, presentations and demos
  • Showcases from 11 companies and 5 major institutions

Prominent participants include DAAD, Goethe-Institut, GIZ, the Federal Employment Agency, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, and the federal states Baden-Württemberg and Thuringia.

The focus is clear: strengthening structured channels for skilled worker mobility from India to Germany.

Skilled Workforce Mobility Takes Centre Stage

The 2025 edition strongly mirrors Germany’s Skilled Worker Strategy for India, adopted in October 2024. The framework prioritises smoother recruitment pathways for Indian talent across manufacturing, healthcare, mobility, and advanced technologies.

Bleinroth affirmed the alignment: “Didac India & Didac Skills provides the right platform to demonstrate how structured engagement can strengthen the recruitment pipeline for Indian skilled workers entering the German economy.”

A Strategic Bridge in Indo-German Talent Partnerships

With India emerging as one of the world’s largest talent reservoirs, Didac India & Didac Skills 2025 is increasingly shaping cross-border skilling cooperation. The fair is bringing together governments, vocational institutions, training providers, and private-sector leaders to build long-term mobility pathways.

By showcasing next-generation classroom technologies, digital learning tools, innovative training models, and policy frameworks, this year’s edition strengthens the Indo-German talent ecosystem and reinforces India’s position as a cornerstone of global workforce development.
