External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar highlighted the potential for expanding Indo-German collaboration in education and technology during the German National Day Reception in New Delhi.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Jaishankar remarked, “2024 marks the 50th anniversary of Indo-German scientific collaboration,” underlining the significance of shared progress in areas like artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum computing, and clean energy technologies.
Economic and Technological Synergy
The Minister underscored economic and technological cooperation as the cornerstone of the Indo-German partnership. He noted that India has become a more business-friendly destination with reduced bureaucracy and improved infrastructure. “German businesses must seize the new opportunities in India,” he said, emphasizing the role of such collaboration in building resilient global supply chains.
Strengthening Mobility and Skilled Workforce
Dr. Jaishankar also pointed to the importance of talent and skill mobility between the two nations. He lauded Germany’s recent skilled labour strategy targeting India, calling it a crucial step for fostering trust and mutual growth in the digital era.
“The times call for greater mobility of talent and skills,” he stated, adding that the strong trust between India and Germany offers vast possibilities for future cooperation.
