Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, during a three-day visit to Germany, emphasized the longstanding and robust relationship between India and Germany, particularly in trade and industry.

Speaking at an interactive session in Munich titled Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, he urged German investors to explore opportunities in the state. “Our investors are not guests; they are part of our family. We will ensure they face no difficulties,” Dr. Yadav said, adding that the state government has simplified procedures to facilitate investment and ensures a steady supply of electricity and water for industries. He also invited German business leaders to the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal, scheduled for February.

Historical Ties and Economic Potential

Highlighting the historical and cultural ties between the two nations, Dr. Yadav paid tribute to German scholar Max Müller, whose work on Indian texts and Sanskrit bridged cultural understanding. He described Germany as India’s largest European investor, noting, “We seek a new kind of partnership with Germany, beyond just trade. German companies can bring advanced technologies to Madhya Pradesh, leveraging our natural and human resources.”

Dr. Yadav outlined Madhya Pradesh’s economic progress, citing its tripled GDP over the past decade and a double-digit growth rate. With a surplus in power generation and advancements in green energy, the state is becoming a sustainable and attractive investment hub.

Streamlining Approvals for Investors

Dr. Yadav assured German investors of a streamlined approval process, stating, “Madhya Pradesh can be called the only state in India where all industrial permits are granted within 30 days.” His administration’s proactive approach is overseen personally, ensuring smooth facilitation for investors.

German Investors Laud Madhya Pradesh’s Environment

Dr. Tobias Rosenthal, Chairman of Bayerlosher, shared his company’s positive experience in the state, calling it the ideal investment destination. “Our largest plant among 15 worldwide is in Madhya Pradesh,” he said, urging other German companies to explore the state’s skilled workforce and supportive infrastructure.

Infrastructure and Policy Support Boost Investor Confidence

Shri Shatrughna Sinha, Consul General of India in Germany, underscored Madhya Pradesh’s excellent infrastructure, including five airports, 4,000 kilometers of national highways, and a robust railway network. He noted that the state is well-positioned to attract investment in agriculture, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.

Advancing in IT and Artificial Intelligence

Shri Sanjay Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary of IT, highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s emergence as a hub for artificial intelligence (AI). With progressive IT policies, the state has become a significant contributor to India’s 550 million daily digital transactions, supported by its tech-savvy workforce.

Expanding Trade Relations with Germany

Shri Raghvendra Singh, Principal Secretary of Industrial Policy, revealed that Madhya Pradesh exported $162 million worth of goods to Germany in FY 2023-24, including textiles, chemicals, and agricultural products. “Over 300 large and MSME industries operate in the state, and more than 300 pharmaceutical companies export to 160 countries,” he said.

German Industry Leaders Praise India’s Investment Model

Ingo Schmitz, CEO of ISMC, commended India’s progressive investment policies, particularly the swift approval timelines. “This is a huge advantage for India, especially amid skill shortages in Germany,” he said.

Severin Weil, President of Deutscher Cricket Bund, emphasized the importance of strengthening ties, saying, “India is the most important partner for Germany. In these challenging global political times, we should better connect with India.”

Looking Ahead to GIS 2025

Saurabh Sangla, Executive Director of Signet Industries, praised the Chief Minister’s proactive approach in meeting stakeholders and promoting Madhya Pradesh as an investment destination. “German companies have shown tremendous interest in investing in Madhya Pradesh,” Sangla noted, inviting global business leaders to the upcoming GIS in February.
