RENK Group AG Expands Operations in India with New Production Site

RENK Group AG, a global leader in manufacturing mission-critical drive solutions for military and civil markets, has announced its expansion plans in India. The company is set to build a new production site spanning approximately 7000 square meters in the Defense Industrial Corridor of Tamil Nadu State by 2025.

The groundbreaking ceremony for this ambitious project was officiated by Andre Neumann, CEO of the RENK Group’s Marine and Industrial segment, alongside Praveen Mohan, Managing Director of RENK Gears Pvt Ltd in India, and Urvish Rambhia, Principal at Blackstone, the developer partnering with RENK on this endeavor.

Strategic Location and Operational Scope

The new facility, situated within the Shoolagiri Park industrial estate owned by Horizon Industrial Parks, will comprise office spaces, production halls, and a warehouse.

Upon its completion in the first quarter of 2025, the plant will specialize in manufacturing gearboxes, transmissions, and couplings tailored for military and civil applications.

Significance and Growth Strategy

The establishment of this production hub underscores RENK Group’s strategic vision of expanding its global footprint, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.

Andre Neumann expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “RENK and India have enjoyed a trusting relationship for decades. For this reason, it was a logical step to expand our production capacities in one of the most dynamic countries in the world.”

Praveen Mohan echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the milestone’s significance for RENK in India and its commitment to local production and partnerships. He remarked, “Once completed, this facility significantly increases the production capacity and opens up opportunities for localizing well-known RENK products in India for India and neighboring countries.”
