Indian EV charger manufacturer Servotech Power Systems Ltd has joined hands with Germany’s LESSzwei GmbH to develop and deploy 100% solar-powered EV charging infrastructure in urban Germany.

The joint initiative, named “EnerMAAS,” aims to revolutionize micromobility by providing sustainable, round-the-clock charging solutions powered entirely by solar energy.

Innovative Solar-Powered Charging Ecosystem

The “EnerMAAS” project focuses on transforming existing photovoltaic systems and energy storage into street-level charging points, dubbed BIKE-Ports. These stations will deliver 100% solar-powered, self-sufficient energy for charging e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-cargo bikes. Each station can charge four two-wheelers simultaneously with a total output of 3.3 kW, ensuring reliable and efficient energy use.

“This collaboration aligns perfectly with Servotech’s vision of accelerating the adoption of sustainable energy solutions and establishing a strong international footprint,” said Raman Bhatia, Founder and Managing Director of Servotech Power Systems. “By leveraging our expertise in solar energy and EV charging infrastructure, we are confident that the EnerMAAS project will revolutionize the way we power micromobility in German urban areas.”

Collaborative Efforts and Funding Support

Under the partnership, Servotech will oversee the manufacturing and supply of solar-powered charging stations, while LESSzwei will focus on artificial intelligence and app development. The project is funded by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), highlighting the German government’s commitment to sustainable urban transportation.

Initially, 100 charging stations will be installed across 50 German cities, with two stations in each city. The project not only underscores the collaboration between India and Germany in green technology but also sets a precedent for scalable and sustainable energy solutions.

A Step Towards Greener Urban Mobility

The EnerMAAS project is a significant milestone in the global push for cleaner, more efficient urban mobility. By integrating AI-driven energy management systems with solar technology, the initiative aims to optimize energy use and minimize environmental impact.

As global cities look for innovative ways to decarbonize transportation, this partnership serves as a blueprint for sustainable infrastructure development, paving the way for a greener future.
