India’s VINS Bioproducts Ltd and Germany’s Neovii Biotech GmbH have exchanged a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to facilitate cooperation in manufacturing, technology transfer to India and commercialisation of immunoglobulin products.

The Embassy of India in Berlin facilitated the exchange on the sidelines of the Indo-German Health Leadership Dialogue on 13 October 2026. The proposed cooperation includes anti-thymocyte globulin, used in organ transplantation and the treatment of certain blood disorders.

“The NDA will facilitate collaboration in manufacturing, technology transfer to India and commercialisation of immunoglobulin products,” the Embassy said in a post on X. It identified anti-thymocyte globulin among the products covered by the proposed collaboration.

Biotechnology manufacturing links

Neovii Biotech’s manufacturing and German operations are based in Gräfelfing. VINS, established in 1997, operates manufacturing facilities in Telangana and produces antisera, antitoxins and rabies immunoglobulins. The proposed engagement brings together the companies’ capabilities in specialised biological products.

The NDA marks an initial step towards the proposed cooperation. The announcement does not establish that production or technology transfer has begun, and provides no investment figure or implementation timetable.

Broader health cooperation

The Embassy organised the Berlin dialogue alongside the World Health Summit, with a focus on strengthening health research. Participants included World Health Summit President Prof. Dr. Axel R. Pries, former WHO Chief Scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Charité Chief Executive Officer Prof. Dr. Heyo K. Kroemer and Apollo Hospitals Joint Managing Director Dr. Sangita Reddy.

India and Germany also have an established medical-research framework. A December 2021 MoU between the Indian Council of Medical Research and the German Research Foundation covers toxicology, neglected tropical diseases, rare diseases and other areas of mutual interest, with provisions for joint research funding and researcher exchanges. Their first joint funding call, launched in 2022, focused on toxicology.

The Neovii–VINS initiative adds a prospective manufacturing and technology-transfer partnership to these research links, with its scope and implementation awaiting further announcements.
