India’s Packaging Company Wins Prestigious German Red Dot Award

The patented auto-disable solution for pre-filled syringes from India receives recognition in the best medical devices and technology design category at the 2024 Red Dot Awards.

India’s leading packaging company- Kaisha Packaging, a part of the Dadachanji Group, has been honored with the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2024 in the medical devices and technology design category for its Sycure AD auto-disable solution for pre-filled syringes. This innovative product has been recognized for its outstanding design and contribution to medical safety.

Enhancing Patient Safety with Innovative Design

The Sycure AD is a lightweight, simple, and cost-effective plastic device designed for use with pre-filled syringes. Its primary function is to lock the plunger rod, preventing the syringe from being reused, thus ensuring secure administration of injectables and enhancing patient safety.

Innovative Design Ensures Safety

The Sycure AD plays a crucial role in helping healthcare providers and patients ensure that the complete dose has been administered. It emits a clicking sound once the plunger rod is securely locked into the system. The device’s unique design allows it to securely attach to the barrel, with extended flanges for a firm grip. This design also maintains the integrity of the pre-filled syringe by preventing the accidental removal of the plunger stopper, thus preventing medication spillage.

Moreover, the Sycure AD prevents patients from receiving injections with refilled or counterfeit drug products. Additionally, it prevents the reuse of the same fixed needle for multiple patients, thus minimizing the risk of contamination.

Prestigious Recognition from Red Dot Awards

The Red Dot Awards from Germany are among the most prestigious awards in the global design and innovation industry. The ‘Red Dot Award: Product Design’ honors products that demonstrate exceptionally high design quality. The award is based on the decision of the Red Dot jury, who assess the submissions based on the four basic principles of good design: the quality of function, the quality of seduction, the quality of use, and the quality of responsibility.

This year, the Red Dot jury comprised 39 experts from 20 countries across four continents, covering various design disciplines.
