Bosch Software and Digital Solutions (Bosch SDS) and Dassault Systèmes have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate AI-led digital transformation across India’s manufacturing sector.
Announced on September 10, 2026, the collaboration will combine virtual-twin and product-lifecycle technologies with industrial AI and factory-level intelligence. It will cover product engineering, manufacturing operations and broader industrial value chains.
First deployment underway at Indian EV manufacturer
The partnership has already moved into implementation at an unnamed electric vehicle manufacturer in India.
The project combines Dassault Systèmes’ DELMIA Apriso Manufacturing Execution System with Bosch SDS’ manufacturing transformation capabilities. The deployment is intended to enable connected, real-time factory operations while improving production efficiency, quality and digital traceability.
The companies have not disclosed the identity of the EV manufacturer or the financial details of the project.
Combining virtual twins with industrial AI
Dassault Systèmes will contribute its capabilities in Virtual Twin Experiences, Product Lifecycle Management, digital manufacturing and Manufacturing Operations Management.
Bosch SDS will bring its expertise in industrial AI, manufacturing transformation, contextualised data products, energy optimisation, IT and operational technology integration, and machine-level intelligence.
Dattatreya Gaur, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bosch Software and Digital Solutions, said manufacturers were moving beyond isolated digitalisation projects towards “connected, intelligent and autonomous operations.”
He said the partnership combines Bosch SDS’ experience in manufacturing and operational technology with Dassault Systèmes’ virtual-twin and Digital Thread capabilities. According to Gaur, the combination could help manufacturers implement AI-led transformation across the entire product and manufacturing value chain with greater speed and scale.
Ramesh Ramaswamy, Global Sales Head at Bosch Software and Digital Solutions, said the future of manufacturing would depend on how effectively companies connect engineering, operations, data and AI.
He said the collaboration would help manufacturers move from fragmented transformation initiatives towards “connected, software-defined and intelligent operations,” providing a stronger foundation for innovation, resilience and operational agility.

Cognitive factories and Digital Thread systems
The companies will jointly develop AI-enabled manufacturing solutions using the Bosch Cognitive Factory platform, including the orchestration of Agentic AI systems.
The partnership will also focus on Digital Thread and traceability systems that connect information across engineering, manufacturing and product-lifecycle operations. This could allow data generated during product development to remain connected with factory-floor production and subsequent lifecycle processes.
Other areas include contextualised data products, enterprise intelligence, smart and connected factory operations, energy management, sustainability, and real-time adjustments using machine-level information.
Digital Product Passports and regulatory readiness
The companies will develop AI-enabled Digital Product Passport capabilities across product and manufacturing value chains.
Digital Product Passports are designed to provide traceable information about a product’s materials, manufacturing history, environmental footprint and lifecycle. Such systems are becoming increasingly relevant as manufacturers prepare for emerging sustainability, transparency and regulatory requirements.
Bosch SDS will work with Dassault Systèmes as a consulting and systems-integration partner across engineering, manufacturing and enterprise operations.
Automotive, batteries and semiconductors among focus sectors
The initial industry focus will include:
