Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp officially entered the German market on July 16, 2026, through a distribution partnership with Austria-headquartered KSR Group, extending its international footprint to 53 countries.

Germany is now the New Delhi-based company’s fifth active European market after Italy, Spain, France and the United Kingdom. The expansion gives Hero MotoCorp a presence in Europe’s largest economy as the company seeks to diversify beyond India and strengthen its position in higher-value international markets.

The German launch is being led by the Euro 5+ compliant XPulse 200 4V adventure motorcycle range. Hero MotoCorp marked its market entry with a launch event at Motorworld Metzingen in Baden-Württemberg.

KSR Group to oversee German distribution

Under the partnership, KSR Group will manage Hero MotoCorp’s sales, logistics and after-sales operations in Germany. The Austrian company is an established European importer and distributor of motorcycles, scooters, all-terrain vehicles and other mobility products. Its portfolio also includes motorcycles from Royal Enfield and Kawasaki.

Hero MotoCorp’s motorcycles will initially be available through more than 28 authorised sales and service outlets across major German cities. The companies plan to increase the network to 30 sales points.

The outlets will provide sales, servicing, technical assistance and after-sales support. Hero MotoCorp is also offering German customers a five-year warranty, consisting of a standard three-year manufacturer’s warranty and a two-year extension under a launch promotion.

Sanjay Bhan, Executive Vice-President for Global Business, Global Product Planning and Global Market Insights at Hero MotoCorp, described Germany as an important step in the company’s international expansion.

“Germany represents a defining milestone in Hero MotoCorp’s global growth journey. Building on our presence in Italy, Spain, France and the UK, our entry now into Europe’s largest economy reflects the growing strength of our global business and our long-term commitment to the region,” Executive Vice-President Bhan said.

“German riders value precision engineering, quality, and performance — principles at the core of our products. Our Euro 5+ portfolio delivers on these expectations while offering an accessible yet aspirational ownership experience. We are thrilled to bring our world-class mobility solutions to this vibrant motorcycling market in partnership with the KSR Group,” he added.

XPulse 200 range leads market entry

Hero MotoCorp has launched two versions of its adventure motorcycle in Germany: the XPulse 200 4V and the more off-road-focused XPulse 200 Pro.

The standard XPulse 200 4V is priced at €2,990, equivalent to approximately ₹3.30 lakh, while the XPulse 200 Pro carries a price of €3,290, or about ₹3.62 lakh.

By comparison, the two motorcycles are priced at approximately ₹1.45 lakh and ₹1.57 lakh, respectively, on an ex-showroom basis in India. The difference reflects factors including European regulatory compliance, logistics, distribution costs and taxation.

Both versions are powered by a four-valve engine producing 14.1 kW of power and 17.35 Nm of torque. The motorcycles offer three anti-lock braking system settings—Road, Off-Road and Rally—along with Bluetooth-enabled turn-by-turn navigation, an LCD instrument display and LED projector headlamps.

The standard XPulse 200 4V has an 825 mm seat height and is positioned as a lightweight motorcycle for city travel and recreational trail riding.

The XPulse 200 Pro is designed for riders seeking greater off-road capability. It comes with fully adjustable suspension offering 250 mm of travel at the front and 220 mm at the rear, 270 mm of ground clearance and an 891 mm seat height. It also includes raised handlebars and an extended gear lever intended for use with off-road riding boots.

KSR Group targets network of 30 sales points

Michael Kirschenhofer, Chief Executive Officer of KSR Group, said the two companies would focus on expanding the distribution and service network in Germany.

“We are delighted to partner with Hero MotoCorp for the brand’s official entry into the German market. Hero MotoCorp and KSR Group share the same customer-first approach, with a clear focus on delivering a seamless ownership experience through a strong and expanding sales and service network,” Chief Executive Officer Kirschenhofer said.

“The launch portfolio, consisting of the XPulse 200 in two versions, offers German customers an attractive combination of modern technology, everyday usability and outstanding value. With the objective of building a network of 30 sales points in Germany, we are confident that Hero MotoCorp is well positioned for a successful market entry,” he added.

European expansion gathers pace

Hero MotoCorp’s arrival in Germany follows its expansion into other major European markets. In October 2025, the company disclosed plans to enter the United Kingdom through a distribution partnership with Lancashire-based MotoGB.

The company reported 40% year-on-year growth in its international business during the financial year ending March 31, 2026, supported by demand across its principal overseas markets. The German entry forms part of its effort to reduce its dependence on the Indian market and build a wider presence in Europe’s motorcycle sector.

Hero MotoCorp operates eight manufacturing facilities—six in India and one each in Colombia and Bangladesh. It also maintains two research and development centres: the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology in India and the Hero Tech Centre Germany.

The company says its global customer base exceeds 130 million across Asia, Africa, Europe, Central America and Latin America.

More powerful XPulse under development

The German debut comes as Hero MotoCorp works on a larger adventure motorcycle, widely expected to be called the XPulse 421. Test motorcycles have been sighted on several occasions, although the company has not yet announced final specifications or a launch schedule.

The proposed motorcycle is expected to use a new platform and a liquid-cooled engine, placing it above the XPulse 200 range. Industry reports indicate that it could be presented at the EICMA motorcycle exhibition in 2026, followed by a commercial launch in 2027, though those timelines remain unconfirmed.

Hero MotoCorp’s official German launch details and executive quotations are contained in the company’s July 16 regulatory filing; its wider international-business context was also reported by Reuters.
