External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized India’s evolving global stature, branding the nation as both “friendly and fair” and “firm and fiery” in its actions, during an address at Delhi University’s Hansraj College.

Speaking on the theme “Viksit Bharat @2047-The Voice of the Youth,” Jaishankar highlighted India’s commitment to its citizens, particularly evident in crisis situations such as the rescue operations from conflict zones like Ukraine.

The Minister underscored the significance of “Viksit Bharat,” not merely as a motivational slogan but as the cornerstone laid over the past decade, shaping the trajectory of India’s next 25 years.

Addressing students, he stressed their pivotal role in steering India towards this envisioned future. “The next 25 years of the ‘Amrit Kaal’ are your future. It is the journey towards ‘Viksit Bharat’, and it is you who will make this journey possible,” Jaishankar affirmed.

Anticipating a period of both opportunity and new challenges, the minister noted unprecedented transformations in the economy, technology sector, and India’s global positioning.

Highlighting India’s technological prowess, Jaishankar lauded the success of Chandrayaan-3, completed at a fraction of the cost of a movie, as a testament to the nation’s innovation. He also touted India’s burgeoning digital economy, surpassing America in monthly cashless transactions.

Asserting India’s unwavering stance against cross-border terrorism, Jaishankar referenced the Balakot airstrike as a demonstration of the nation’s resolve.

Jaishankar’s address echoed India’s multifaceted identity on the global stage, projecting a blend of warmth, integrity, resilience, and determination.
