Messe Düsseldorf, one of the world’s leading organizers of industrial trade fairs, has announced its entry into India’s foundry sector through a strategic partnership with Inter Foundry, a key trade exhibition focused on the South Asian foundry industry. The collaboration will bring Messe Düsseldorf’s global metal trade fair portfolio—GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, and NEWCAST, collectively known as The Bright World of Metals—to India for the first time, integrated within Inter Foundry 2026, scheduled to take place from September 10–12, 2026, at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
Expanding Global Footprint in a High-Growth Market
The partnership marks a major step in Messe Düsseldorf’s long-term strategy to strengthen its global footprint in metallurgy, foundry, and industrial technologies. India, currently the third-largest casting producer globally, has emerged as a priority market due to its strong economic fundamentals and industrial growth.
According to the WFO Global Foundry Report 2024, India’s GDP is expanding at 6–7% annually, driving increasing demand for advanced foundry machinery, automation systems, and sustainable metallurgical solutions. Coimbatore, a key industrial hub in southern India, hosts over 600 foundries and numerous component manufacturers, offering an ideal ecosystem for international companies in aluminium casting, light metals, automotive components, and renewable energy materials.
Inter Foundry: A South Asian Platform for Industrial Innovation
Inter Foundry serves as one of the most comprehensive international trade platforms for the foundry and die-casting industries in South Asia. It connects manufacturers, suppliers, automation experts, and digital technology providers, covering the entire industrial value chain.
Together with its co-located event Inter DieCast, which focuses on die-casting and aluminium technologies, the two fairs form a dual platform representing both traditional foundry and modern casting sectors. This collaboration aligns with the growing demand for lightweight, energy-efficient, and sustainable production technologies in India and the wider region.
Messe Düsseldorf to Bring Global Expertise and Networks
Through this cooperation, Messe Düsseldorf will leverage its international sales network and organizational expertise to elevate Inter Foundry’s global visibility and business potential. The German organizer has already established a strong presence in India with successful events such as METEC India, wire India, and Tube India, which have become benchmarks in their respective industries.
“India is one of the most dynamic and rapidly expanding markets for the global foundry sector,” said Malte Seifert, Director of Metals & Autonomous Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf. “With Inter Foundry, we are creating an exceptional platform for our exhibitors from The Bright World of Metals to explore new opportunities and build lasting networks. This partnership underscores our commitment to supporting India’s industrial transformation.”
Record Participation Expected at Inter Foundry 2026
Following the success of Inter Foundry 2024, which drew 220 exhibitors and nearly 8,000 visitors, the upcoming 2026 edition is already seeing strong momentum, with over 88% of exhibitors confirming their participation. The event will cover 13,500 square meters of exhibition space, showcasing next-generation foundry technologies, materials, and automation systems.
“India’s economic expansion is unlocking vast opportunities for the global foundry industry,” said Ashwani Pande, CEO of VA Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. “As demand for infrastructure and manufacturing surges, the collaboration with The Bright World of Metals will enhance Inter Foundry’s position as the central platform for Indian and international stakeholders alike.”
Strengthening India’s Role in Global Foundry Value Chains
By uniting global expertise with India’s manufacturing momentum, the partnership between Messe Düsseldorf and Inter Foundry is expected to redefine the country’s position in global casting and metallurgy value chains. The collaboration will also help introduce sustainable technologies, circular manufacturing practices, and energy-efficient processes, supporting India’s goal of becoming a global hub for industrial innovation.
